May 2 Scripture Verse for
Today
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (Psalm 119:11)
God’s word is powerful! We should read it, meditate upon its truths, study it, and memorize
it. The real power of the word comes when we take it to heart and it becomes part of the very fabric of
our lives. When God’s word is hidden in our hearts it becomes a shield to guard against temptations
and a sword to fight against Satan. It is much easier
to resist sin when we are filled with the word. Jesus resisted the temptations of Satan by quoting the
word. Slackness in our Bible reading will weaken our strength to resist temptations.
The Bible will keep you from sin, but sin will keep you from the Bible. Be faithful!
